I have struggled with weight and eating issues most of my life. My highest weight was about 309 pounds. I have lost over 100 pounds many different times but always gained it back. Trauma, stress, and other things contribute to my eating issues. Food has been the thing that helps me to relax and feel happy, sadly it is very unhealthy food. On this weight loss challenge I lost 50 pounds and have 100 pounds to go. It has been two steps forward and one step back due to food addiction and giving into it. I am happy that I have made progress and hope someday to be 100 percent nutritarian because it is the best way to eat, and 100 percent is best because giving in to the addiction just makes it harder to live a healthy life successfully. If I give in to cravings it awakens the food monster and it is a fight to get back on track.
I have done a lot of studying about food addiction and learned some about our brain and how addiction to unhealthy foods is connected. I hope someday to be able to break free of it or learn how not to give in to it. I’m a work in progress. The healthiest way that I’ve ever found is Dr. Fuhrman’s way of eating. I appreciate that he explains the scientific reasons and that he has done so much research and shared with us. I know I would not have done this myself, so I appreciate it. Also, it makes so much sense that fruits and vegetables are so important to our health along with beans, mushrooms, nuts, and seeds. I also appreciate the sessions with Randi very much! She understands how to deal with food addiction and why it’s important to do this. Jenna’s cooking videos were fun too. Lisa Fuhrman’s sessions were very helpful. Thank you!
